Get your skates on to catch The Ruthven Gallery's Summer Exhibition which runs until 10th September. The exhibition presents a selection of new work from Northumberland-based artist Robert Newton alongside works by Scottish artists Gillian Allan, Cara Mckinnon Crawford and Hugh Kirkwood. The gallery is also pleased to present two new artists to its exhibition space: wood turner Angus Clyne and painter David Hay. |
| With all the featured artists focusing on their environment, whether built or natural, the exhibition shows different artists' take on an often similar subject matter. From the figurative work of Hugh Kirkwood that comes alive when the subject matter is painted in their natural environment, to the beautiful, yet often threatening, studies of changing light by David Hay, the exhibition shows nature from many different perspectives |
